Negativity

Negativity is like a thief. It can steal your dreams, it can steal your actions, it can steal your life. If you start saying negative things about a situation, you can start thinking worse and worse about it.

I’m not meaning that we can’t be honest about things and how things really are. We have to do that… the Bible even says to “Test the Spirits” about things. That means that some things are just not right, some situations are just not right. We do have to be honest. But we DON’T have to get on a roll and start going on and on about all of the negative things going on in a situation.

We actually need to face it, feel it, and forget it and move on. That’s how we learn to conquer things. We don’t carry a big bag of negativity around with us through our life about every bad thing that has ever happened to us. We need to choose to not be a victim and not think like a victim!!

We have to learn to turn a negative to a positive. We can do that!! It’s not always the easiest thing to do, but we do have choices. Sometimes it doesn’t feel very comforting to be the big person and let negative things go, but it is so, so worth it in the long run!! Positivity breeds more positive things and the same with negativity.

We have to choose life!! We have to choose what’s best for us!! We don’t have to be perfect in doing this.. it’s progress not perfection!! We have to start someplace just noticing what our thoughts are and take them captive so they can’t steal things from us!!

I encourage you to start today!! Chase those negative, nagging thoughts out of your mind and out of your day!! You are worth it!! You are worth good things!! You are worth the best!! Don’t give up on positive dreams that you have had, that haven’t taken place yet…write them down!! Pray one more time for it to happen!! It is never time to give up on anything that God put in our heart!!

Keep knowing that you can do it!! No matter how big or how small!! Don’t let those negative thoughts steal your joy!! Enjoy the journey!! Success is not only the destination, it’s more about the things you learn along the way!!

Launching

Just got book returned from the editor and now my turn to do my checking then send back if I need to. I set the Launch date for November 12th, my birthday, in case y’all wanted to know… haha!!

Just baby steps and process all the way!! Isn’t our whole life about a process? We have to get used to baby steps in everything!! Then every once in a while we get surprised with a “suddenly” that happens without the process!! That’s always fun!!

We are also getting some clarity about our “Healing House” that we built for people to come get Restored and Recovered in their life!! The name of it is Pier 7 Restorations. The vision was there long ago but has taken several years to come into fruition. Many things have tried to steal the dream from us and discourage and distract us… But God!! My book coming to life in many ways!!

Don’t give up on those dreams!! These dreams I have had, have literally disappeared and been gone, but the dead bones can come back to life again!!

If you can please pray for us during this launching time for everything!! It’s amazing how it’s coming all together at once!! You can’t make this stuff up!!

Relationships

Relationships are so needed but yet sometimes so hard. They can be lots of work. We have to stay in communication with people so we don’t have misunderstandings.

Some relationships are so easy and it’s a give and take that just flows. Others are friction and a battle every step of the way.

We have to keep our eyes on our part of working things out. We have to be open to things that we have done wrong, but yet we can’t take all the blame. We don’t have to sell out and lose our identity.

There are so many different kinds of personalities. One can be strong and not even notice if they hurt your feelings. Another can be so sensitive that they take on every hard thing that is going on.

We don’t have to be full of pride and not admit that we might have a flaw in our character. We all can use some work and tweaking on ourselves. We don’t need to believe any kind of a lie that we have it all together, or any kind of a lie that we are a total mess that can’t get it together.

Life is a process, we are all a work in progress. We need to be open to apologize if we have to. We also need to be open to forgive. That’s what is going on in the world today…lots of narcissistic people that only think of themselves and don’t have empathy for what someone else might be going through.

How sad when we can’t even have a little compassion for someone even though they may be different than we are. That’s what my passion has been, birthing a culture that is meant for Recovery and Restoration.  It is starting to happen too.

We get to start a Celebrate Recovery meeting soon in a small town that needs it so desperately. That’s is so my heart. It’s not just for addicts like some may think, it’s for anyone with hurts, habits, or hangups. That pretty much includes us all. Isn’t it great to be able to admit that you might have a hurt, habit, or hangup and you are still an ok person?

I have been wanting this to take off forever and I am starting to see it happen all around us. Needless to say, I’m very excited about this and my book is a lot about how it has helped in my life. My book is moving along in the editing process so one of these days very soon I will be launching. Yay!!

If you see a Celebrate Recovery being offered anyplace around you, you might want to pop in and just check it out. The thing with lots of people is that they think, “Oh, I don’t need something like that. That is for people with lots of problems.” Well, that is simply not true, we all struggle, we all need support from others, and we all have something to offer.

Just some thoughts to ponder today about relationships!!

Hope deferred

Just thinking a lot about the verse Proverbs 13:12 “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” This scripture is really something to think I about. If you keep dreaming and dreaming for things and they never come about, you finally give up.

I wonder how many people that live out on the streets kept trying and trying and dreams kept falling through so they finally just stopped trying. They finally said, “Ok, I don’t even want a home anymore! I don’t care if I have to live in the cold, at least I won’t be expecting anything and won’t be let down again.”

That is sad and I could see some of that in myself. The battle would get so hard sometimes it was just easier not to expect anything or even ask for anything. The bad part about being that way is that you stagnate…your creativity starts dwindling, your passion about life starts dwindling.

We have to keep fighting for change and things to look forward to. Even if you go do anything just a little different than normal to keep moving forward!! Go to different places, different scenery, anything to bring about change in your life.

We can’t expect someone else to do it for us, we have to produce change ourselves. We have to keep ourselves (with God’s help) from falling into awful ruts. Some people have no problem taking great care of themselves but others have to fight to remember that they matter and are important and have dreams that are important and matter in this world.

I am so grateful to be getting some momentum in some of these things finally and moving forward!! We have to be grateful everyday for things in our life because it is easy for stinkin thinking to enter in and hold us back from moving into our destiny!!

Keep your eyes open, don’t get distracted!! Keep your love, joy and forgiveness going. Don’t get isolated!! There is a big world out there and many things that you can be so passionate about!! Leave your footprint wherever you go! You can change the atmosphere around you by just being you.

Realization

Hi… been a while…just came to a realization!! I was on vacay last week trying to get my book to a new place which did happen…Also, got to go up and visit with some friends that we got to spend a lot of time with in Texas last fall.

We also got to visit another church in Champaign/Urbana area…. awesome… the young man came up and spoke a prophecy over us right off the bat when the service was over…

He told us how we were grandparents to all these kids just like Heidi is in Mozambique…. woo hoo… it brought a revelation to me that America is a huge, huge mission field!! These kids we minister to are valuable and important and their lives matter!!

I got to hug on a 14 year old last night that has been through more that we can even imagine for a 14 year old… I am very honored for the ability and opportunity to do such a thing. She told me her whole story and didn’t want to leave my side all evening… America needs help!!! America needs love ❤️

Anyway, I knew there were lots of troubled people but I just got a HUGE reality check about it!! While America is sitting in our shiny buildings there are needy people crying and children having to be adults!!

Glad to be a part of anything that might make a difference!! And hope to be making more difference!!

Soooo, got the book to the editor this week…woo hoo!! But I have decided to make the title back to the original…”Shift Happens”…. a woman has a right to change her mind, right?😊

Yep… it’s kind of a eye catcher and I think it’s a good title!!

Hope you are all having a good life and being who you are created to be!! Keep fighting for it if you haven’t found it yet!! It will show up!!

Miss you all!! Sorry I haven’t been here for a bit!! Not because I don’t want to be, just staying  very focused!! I am going to have a launch team eventually and I will have a Facebook page and coach people how to be on there… I would love you all to be there!! I’ll keep you informed!!
